Glorious garden gathering is a summer success

Smiles in the summer sunshine. The garden party is under way.

Organisers are hailing this year's Flaxby village garden party a huge success for bringing old and new residents together for some summer fun.

Forty-two residents and relatives attended the event hosted by Judy and
Trevor Cook including several who have moved to the village in recent months.

The £315 raised will go to Martin House children's hospice, Boston Spa. 

The party is one of several events organised each year to enable neighbours to get to know one another and to boost funds for the village's adopted charity.

The year's fundraising activities will round off with a cake and tea afternoon on Saturday 17 October and carol singing and mince pies on Sunday 13 December.
