Glorious garden gathering is a summer success

Organisers are hailing this year's Flaxby village garden party a huge success for bringing old and new residents together for some summer fun.

More than 40 residents and relatives attended the event hosted by Judy and Trevor Cook including several who have moved to the village in recent months.

Cash raised is being totalled and will go to Martin House children's hospice, Boston Spa. 

The party is one of several events organised each year to strengthen community spirit and provide opportunities for neighbours to get to know one another.
