Village Association

A popular way that residents keep in touch and have fun is by attending the range of events that the Flaxby Village Association organises throughout the year.

The association dates back to 2009 when Buck and Kath White hosted a garden party at their home at Herons Keep. The event was so successful that a meeting was held shortly afterwards where a committee was created. The aim was to act as a voice for the village, provide helpful information, and to launch a calendar of social events.

Since then, the committee has launched a varied programme of events including the annual garden and wine and cheese parties, a quiz, and the Christmas carol singing and mince pies get-togethers. A recent addition has been the Blokes and a Brew meetings where men from the village have a chat over a cuppa at least three times a year.

The committee also maintains a list of tradespeople who have been recommended by residents.

The committee meets up to five times each year.
