On a misty Monday morning in late February two figures could be seen on York Road wearing hi-viz clothing, apparently foraging in the hedgerows. This was the latest village litter-pick, from the two new houses down to the village sign near Morrisons. The total haul was three bags of general litter plus one whole black (recycling) box of glass bottles.
Discussions will shortly be held with Morrisons, Chippindales and Bush Tyres to seek their cooperation in clearing litter from their end of York Road.Residents can do their bit by clearing up litter from outside their own homes. With everyone's help we can have the village looking neat and tidy in readiness for spring.
