Flaxby's population was boosted at least five fold when crowds flocked to the area to line the route of the Tour de France. Residents talked about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see the world's biggest annual sports event come to the region. Flaxby featured on Day Two of the event which saw riders heading from York to Harrogate, then into the Dales, before heading south to Sheffield. Sunday 6 July 2014.
