An event for all seasons with new social calendar

The committee is keen to repeat the success of recent years with its social events.

Residents tell us they enjoy getting together and having the opportunity to get to know their neighbours a lot more. Little surprise, then, that some of the old favourites appear on our calendar of activities with at least one event per season.

SPRING kicks off with a wine and cheese party hosted by Darren and Caroline Greenhalgh on Saturday 27 April from 7.30pm. Folks are invited to bring along a bottle (alcoholic or soft).

SUMMER will see a garden party hosted by Mervin and Jacqui Straughan on Sunday 14 July.

The annual Knaresborough walk has grown in popularity so we’ll be donning our boots again on Saturday 17 August and setting off from the village green at 10am.

AUTUMN: after a successful three-year run, the village quiz at the Tiger Inn is being replaced with a Flaxby history evening on Tuesday 22 October. Residents who have any old documents, maps, notes, photos or other items of historical interest are urged to get in touch with Sheelagh Fowler.

WINTER: we round the year off on Sunday 15 December  in Yuletide spirit with our Christmas carol singing and charity fund-raising auction which, as well as being a great social, lets you bag some gifts when they go under the hammer. The auction will be hosted by Buck and Kath White.
