Another summer success

Almost forty residents gathered at Buck and Kath White's home for this year's summer garden party.

This was the eighth gathering in as many years designed to help neighbours get to know one another and organised by the village social committee.

It followed an equally successful wine and cheese party held a couple of months earlier.

Future events include 20 August's annual village walk to Knaresborough and the traditional carol singing and mince pies gathering on 11 December.

While the garden party got off to a sizzling hot start, a chilly breeze moved in but residents sat firm and chatted on in typical British spirit to make the most of their time together.
