Around fifty residents ensured that the Flaxby summer garden party was a sizzling success. The party, which basked in temperatures of 25 degrees centigrade, was the latest in the list of events organised by the village social committee. The committee has already organised a spring wine and cheese party and is now planning a history talk in autumn and the annual carol singing at the end of the year. The £165 proceeds from the garden party, which had a cream tea theme, will go to Martin House Children's Hospice charity. |
