Toast to a king

Having a great time.

Villagers turned out in force with their deck chairs and hampers to mark the coronation of King Charles III and the weather gave its blessing.

Caroline and Darren Greenhalgh hosted a picnic at their Byways front garden in glorious sunshine.

An estimated 67,000 events took place across the nation to mark the occasion, the first of its kind in more than 70 years.

The Flaxby event was the latest in a series of gatherings throughout the season organised by the village social committee.

Fabulous weather for a special day.

Toasting the King.
